I feel afraid
’I'm really scared that I will move somewhere new without my friends because my mum and dad split up. I like going to football with my dad on Saturdays. I just keep thinking about what's going to happen to me and I don't want to do anything any more.’
Joe, 7

Feeling afraid is really normal. It's not at all surprising you are afraid - it's a very scary time.

Remember what happens will probably not be nearly as scary as you imagine it will be. You might even get to quite like your new life!

Feeling better
Right now, you can make yourself feel a lot better if you talk to someone about how you feel. Your mum and dad don't want you to be afraid. Tell them what you are afraid of.

If you hold this feeling inside, it will grow bigger and bigger and make you feel even worse.

Remember, it’s not your fault.
